The past week and then some

The past week has been crazy to say the least. I had a couple of days off from work that I used to organized every aspect of my bedroom: closets, dresser, desk, the works. I feel a little more sane now, but only a little. We also celebrated my parents' birthdays on the 10th and 11th. Yeah, their birthdays are only one day apart! (super cool, and super expensive! yay! -__-) We went to eat at a local Mexican restaurant called El Mirachi. It was super delicious!

Thenn, this past weekend we headed to Orlando, boyfriend, my brother and I, for Halloween Horror Nights and MLG. MLG stands for Major League Gaming. Yes, that's right. I was stuck at a convention center for three days watching nothing but thousands of people nerd raging. It was fun, though. I was pleasantly surprised. Halloween Horror Nights was alright, I honestly thought I was going to be petrified but it was so packed that there was literally no room for horror.

I'm currently looking around for the finishing touches for my flapper girl costume. Just raided my mom's closet for pearls and some mary jane type pumps. The whole costume should only end up being about $15-20. I found a dress on ebay for only $11 dollars and have been on the lookout for a cheap feather boa and headpiece. I can't wait for the party! It's in two weeks and I still have to help the hostess out with decorations, drinks, and food. (thank goodness for coupons!)

Sunday

Today has been good to me.

Boyfriend and I went to go see Real Steel this afternoon and all I have to say is "mmm Hugh Jackman."

See?!

Anyway, after the movies we hit up Walgreens to get a few good deals. I had a couple of register rewards that were going to expire so I figured I would just get the items in this ad that were either going to be free or really cheap.

I was able to get 4 packs of Softsoap, 2 Walgreens 5 blade razors, 2 packs of Halls, and 4 halloween candies for less than $8 dollars! :)

Then right when we got home (because of course I never remember things when I'm already out..) I realized I forgot my Sunday papers! So while I was out I decided to stop by Publix for some more freebies!

The Dove deodorant was on sale for $2.99 Buy One Get One FREE! Plus I had $0.75 off manufacturer coupons AND $3/3 Publix coupons! Woohoo! This provided me with a little overage that I was able to apply to the already cheap candles. The Airwick candles were $3.49. I had a Buy 2 Get 1 Free manufacturer coupon and a $5/2 Publix coupon.

Total for the day was under $10! (Not including newspapers)

Now to answer the question that I always get: Why does one need so many deodorants? (or any other item that I get more than one or two of) Well first of all, I am stockpiling (as all good couponers do, duh) and secondly, I plan to make baskets filled with all the free goodies I get and give it to family and friends for the holidays. I'm actually pretty excited to make these baskets. I think the main reason I'm looking forward to these baskets is because I'll get to show those selective few people who think I'm crazy just how much I can get with coupons! Muahaha. I mean, who doesn't love a gift that also says "I told you so"?

A beginning of sorts

Well, this isn't my first attempt at keeping some sort of record of my life, but I do believe that this one will prove to be the most successful. I mean, I am older and [somewhat] wiser now so I think this whole blog business will work out.

I suppose this should serve as an introductory post of sorts, but as with real life introductions, I absolutely suck at establishing my presence. Anywho, I am a twenty-something year old girl facing some of life's most boring times. (That certain point in attending college when you're just completely over it, and oh, you know, trying to figure out what exactly you're going to do with that nifty degree.) I'm currently finishing up my BBA at Florida International University and working full time as a bank teller. However, in the little time I do get to myself, I happily spend it couponing (yeah, I'm one of those people ^_^).

Yeah, that about sums me up. I work, go to school, and coupon. How utterly exciting. Hopefully in the course of this blog I will discover that I'm actually a lot cooler than I like to think. :)
